ABOUT US

Z-List Films is an outgrowth of an ongoing collaboration between Jonathan Van Voorhees and Ross Sheridan, two friends who sponsored and MC'd a poetry slam in Richardson, Texas in 2003.

Unlike traditional slams, the central focus of the Fuzion Slam was on theatrical presentations rather than straight recitation of literary works. As a byproduct of some of the presentations by the hosts several poetry videos were developed. It was this experience that led Jonathan and Ross to the idea of producing feature length films.

Cash has never been an obstacle to production for the founders, who always seem to find a way to pull off their productions regardless of their budgetary constraints. Undaunted by detractors that claim you can't make a good movie for under a million dollars, Jonathan and Ross wondered, "Why not use our skill and imagination to develop movies the same way we did shorts and poetry videos?"

Thusly, Z-list Films was born.
